During a 14 year career as a sales and marketing executive with Black & Decker, Mr. Abell traveled around the world leading cross functional teams in strategic planning and developing various different lines of new products. His teams had a number of new product patents, and he personally helped to envision and initiate the Dewalt line of professional tools. During his tenure, he directed the national sales force for the Dewalt tool line, led the marketing and new product development for the Black & Decker consumer tool division, and re-vitalized the sales and marketing training department that trains over 400 people a year.
In 1997, Ben sensed a call to leave the marketplace and become the Executive Director of Grace Fellowship Church, which has grown to over 3800 in attendance each Sunday morning. His role with the senior leadership team includes overseeing all the strategic planning, staff of 50+ employees, communications, operations, and global church planting for the church. He is a member of the ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment) and has led strategic planning sessions for various profit and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Abell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Industrial Relations and Economics.
